VITA volunteers needed! Each year volunteers at NECC prepare taxes for dozens of local families free of charge. This could be your year to join us! After finishing the required training and passing the test, you can commit to doing taxes as often or as little as you like for the tax season. The IRS provides all the study materials you need and AARP offers a free training session for all new volunteers. For this tax season there will be two opportunities to train. One will be offered in Millbrook, while another will be given right here in Millerton. If you are interested but not sure if it’s right for you, call or e-mail Jennie P. (info@neccmillerton.org) or call 518-789-4259. She will tell you everything you need to know and assure you that, yes, volunteering for VITA is right for you!
Tax site are open January to April, Training begins in December.
